Fourth, participate in industry association policy discussions with the European Commission and national regulators to ensure that AI Act implementing measures address performer consent explicitly.

The longer-term trajectory is clear. AI voice and likeness generation will only become more capable and more accessible. Legal frameworks will mature as courts produce precedents for specific AI generation cases, but that maturation takes years and produces inconsistent results in the interim. The performers and rights holders who act pre-emptively, documenting and registering their distinctive identifiers now, will be far better positioned when enforcement actions become necessary.
