First, run the endpoint-versus-cloud cost model honestly. That arithmetic has changed substantially in the past 12 months, and most organisations are working from outdated assumptions. Second, tag the workloads that must stay on-device for GDPR or AI Act compliance purposes and quantify how many seats that actually covers. The number is almost always higher than the initial estimate. Third, avoid the mistake of procuring AI PCs without an inference stack plan. A laptop with a neural-processing unit delivers nothing if the IT team has not deployed a local model runtime to go with it.
